THE BEST OF THE MET GALA 2017

The first Monday in May has come and gone, and with that came the Met Gala. One of the most exclusive and anticipated events of the year, the Met Gala combines fashion and art for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual fundraiser. With the best in fashion, art, society, and entertainment gathered in one location, it’s no surprise that the outfits (more like masterpieces) are one of the biggest components of the evening.

The  theme for this year was Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: The Art of the In-Between.

If you’re getting Alice in Wonderland vibes, you aren’t far off; the designs of Kawakubo are eccentric, amazing, and not at all wearable for normal life. Her constantly evolving approach to fashion makes her the perfect muse for the Met’s new art exhibit. She’s also only the second living designer to be featured.

There were so many beautiful outfits at the Gala. To make choosing my favorites a bit simpler, I’m only going to be sharing the ones that match the theme- meaning the dress will NOT be simple.

Rihanna in Comme des Garçons

Katy Perry in Maison Margiela

Hailey Baldwin in Carolina Herrera

Gigi Hadid in Tommy Hilfiger

Blake Lively in Versace

Chrissy Teigen (and John Legend) in Marchesa

None of the pictures above are mine. They were all taken by fantastic photographers who were invited to the Met Gala. I fail to fall under either of those categories.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Did we share any faves? Let me know in the comments!

XOXO,
